Initiation of Capstone Project (Due Week 6)
Guidelines with Scoring Rubric
The capstone project focuses on a problem or issue identified during the education practicum experience and suggests an evidence-based solution to the identified problem or concern. Your capstone project should be an issue related to a nursing education issue and should not be a clinical paper, because you are working on an educational rather than a clinical degree. Your mentor will help you identify an issue within his or her workplace that could be developed into a capstone paper.

The capstone project focus topic should provide sufficient depth and scope to integrate evidence-based practice, multidisciplinary theory and advanced nursing practice concepts into areas specifically related to the role of the nurse educator.

Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to provide learners with the opportunity to initiate the capstone project. The student will identify a practice issue or concern that impacts the role of the nurse educator, and will conduct a database search on the topic. The student will develop an annotated bibliography to provide an understanding of the current literature on the focus topic. This will provide the foundation for development of the capstone project in NR660.
