U.S. has a rich history that is marked by years of violence and others of social stability, and years of economic progress and regressions. Political changes have been the key driver of social and economic changes in the entire U.S. over the years. Specifically, the modern American political, social and economic structure traces its roots to early 1700s and late 1800s reforms. This is the period that marked the birth of American dream and guided the direction that has been taken by America over the years. As such the political, social and economic structure of modern U.S. is anchored on many reforms that characterized the period between the 1770s and 1860s.
Between 1770s and 1860s was the period that saw most political transformations, changes, and realignments that founded the modern political structure in the country[1]. It began with America quest for independence in the 1700s where events such as Boston Massacre in 1770, 1773 Boston Tea Party and resistance by sons of liberty led to the declaration of independence in July 1776[2].
