Adele, a straight high school student is exploring her identity and sexual desires and Emma is an Art Student with blue hair who is a lesbian. This paper will talk about the film`s visual imagery, language, the time given, context, power, tone, characters, and audience. The visual imagery used in the film is that there color blue is very evident in the movie, which symbolizeAdele`s attraction for Emma. Their first encounter happens when Adele is walking on the street and she sees Emma who has blue hair, blue eyes, wearing a blue jacket, and blue jeans. During this moment, Adele is on her way to meet a boy, but even while she is with the boy, the image of Emma lingers in her mind. After that, Adele joins her friend to go bar hopping and she enters a lesbian bar to see if she can find Emma. She succeeds with her search and converses with her. They engage in a short conversation that is short enough for them to exchange information on what they both do and say good bye. Adele sees Emma outside their school after classes are finished and they decide to talk a walk.
