The Canadian Special Crops Association (CSCA) is a national trade association established in 1987. It represents companies involved in the merchandising of Canadian pulse and special crops, incl. bean, chickpea, lentil, pea, canary seed, buckwheat, sunflower seed and mustard seed. The CSCA currently has more than 110 members, ranging from large multi-national organizations to single-plant processors. Together they represent more than 85% of the pulse and special crops produced in Canada. The Association has evolved over the years to reflect the changing scope of member needs in the pulse and special crops industry in Canada.

Canadian Special Crops Association members are committed to deliver integrity, innovation and value to consumers throughout the world.
With the head office, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the CSCA continually provides information of interest to Canadian producers, exporters and their service providers. The Association holds an Annual Convention each year in the summer, which serves as the main event for North American special crops industry and attracts delegates from all over the world.
The CSCA has developed a comprehensive set of Trade and Arbitration Rules which governs trading of the special crops in Canada, and these rules are used by virtually every participant in Canadian special crops.
To facilitate relations with growers and encourage sustainable economic growth in pulse industry, the CSCA entered into partnership with the growers groups across Canada and established Pulse Canada which is a confederation of pulse industry associations, incl. Saskatchewan Pulse growers, Ontario Bean Producers Marketing Board, Manitoba Pulse Growers, Alberta Pulse Growers and Ontario Colored Bean Producers.
The CSCA is seen by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Canadian Grain Commission as spokesman for the special crops industry, actively promoting and advancing the industry`s perspective on various regulatory matters and policy issues
