Chapter 6, ‘Prison Family Rights’. Please begin drafting a page spread for Chapter 6 that includes written and visual content. Here are a few ideas to consider in case you aren’t certain how to begin developing the page spread.

(1) First, review the Children of Prisoners Bill of Rights and the Prison Family Bill of Rights. Think about which need from the Children of Prisoners Bill of Rights and which statement from the Prison Family Bill of Rights you would like to focus on. Think about which hold the most meaning to you. Include the text on your page spread. Be creative in how the content is displayed on your page. Whether its a certain font you would like to use, color, size of font, etc. If there is a specific font you’d like to use I’d suggest .dafont.com/”>dafont.com. If any of you need a tutorial on how to access fonts for your presentation, let me know and I’ll create one. It is not required that you use a special font, but perhaps there is a certain design you’d like to have displayed on your presentation so that its personalized. If you decide to use a special font, please make note of the font name and where you accessed the font.

(2) Second, utilizing Google Images, or another search engine, find at least three images that reflect the content you’ve decided to focus on from the Children of Prisoner’s Bill of Rights and the Prison Family Bill of Rights. Lay them out on your document with the text. In the video posted on 3/30, it includes details on how to include images into a page spread.

(3) Third, review what you have so far and identify two external resources that connect to to the need you decided to focus on from the Children of Prisoner’s Bill of Rights and the statement you decided to focus on from the Prison Family Bill of Rights. Make sure you provide full citations in the Works Cited page. Include all of the resources you cite throughout your Academic Scrapbook in the order that they appear from Chapter 1 through 8.

(4) Include a paragraph or a blurb on your page spread that gives context to the written text and visual content that you’ve decided to include. Make sure to reference the external resources as well.

This is a step by step process in how to create a page spread for Chapter 6. Of course, students are free to be creative, so if you have another vision for how you’d like to approach this particular chapter, by all means DO IT!
