Organizational and leadership assessment and analysis is a fundamental process that public administration leaders use to gather information, assess needs, and plan actions. In this assignment, you will build upon some of your previous coursework by analyzing your chosen public sector organization in terms of its organizational structure, current management, and leadership theories in use. You will evaluate the effectiveness of these theories, identify some key concerns, and provide some strategies for improvement for your organization.
The assignment is divided into three parts. Part I concerns the organizational structure and management theories and processes in use. The bulk of this section will come from your Unit 3 assignment and will provide a review of your original findings. Part II examines the leadership theories and practices being used in this organization and your evaluation of their effectiveness. In addition, you will examine what this organization might look like with a different type of leadership theory or practices in place. Part III concludes the analysis with the identification of some areas of concern related to leadership, and a plan for improvement.
