The bauxite ore contains 55.4 weight% of aluminium oxide (Al2O3), the balance being impurities. The sulphuric acid solution contains 77.7 weight% of H2SO4, the rest being water. 1080 lb of bauxite ore and 2510 lb of sulphuric acid solution are used to produce crude aluminium sulphate. The crude aluminium sulphate contains 1798 lb of pure aluminium sulphate.
