Our Role Protecting Environment

Ladies and gentlemen, there is a high need for the generation that is living today to think not only about today, but also tomorrow and the days after. In some aspects, we inherited the world that was not as good as it is currently. We have given ourselves state of the art technology, efficient means of transport, and improved ways of doing almost anything. Thus far we have helped to make the world better than we found it. However, as an adage goes, there is two way to every story, our story has not been any different. In as much as the contemporary developments have improved the living standard and quality of life, we have sacrificed the environment for it. Given that every person has played a role in polluting the environment, we all have a role to play in protecting it.

The 21st century has seen the nature’s fury at its worst. There have been floods in almost every corner of the world, starting from hurricanes in Japan to Tsunamis in U.S.A. The weather patterns and climatic conditions have changed a great deal. Or has it not? The environmentalists and scientists have blamed this on the increased pollution that has led to the depletion of the ozone layer (De Sario, Katsouyanni & Michelozzi, 2013). Ozone layer plays a critical role in protecting human beings and other things around the world from harmful rays and excessive heat. Following the depletion of the ozone layer, we have witnessed hotter summers than usual, the level of the sea and oceans have risen, and the ice in the major mountain is melting. I hope you agree with me that everybody should be alarmed by this disastrous turn of events that we have brought to ourselves.
