The flow of money affects the delivery of patient care and the general health of the hospital itself. Behind the scenes are hospital administrators that work quietly to ensure the hospital’s welfare and financial security. The inflow of revenue ascertains the hospitals wellbeing with the major source being insurance billings for patient care services. Other hospitals particularly university and educational foundation facilities, receive state, private and private grant funding. Profit sharing strategies are different depending on the nature of the hospital, for example, investor-owned hospitals share profits according to the investments made by the investors (Singh PhD, Wheeler PhD, and Roden MBA, FACHE 2012). However, this is not the case with government-owned hospitals. When it comes to tax, hospitals, and other medical service facilities are majorly service enterprises for purposes of tax and are mostly considered consumers and not retailers of tangible personal property. Being consumers, they will pay tax to their suppliers or directly use tax to buy property, other than buying medicines.
